The concept:
Sergio Henrique, a former Pole vault silver medallist in the Rio Olympics, after going through a divorce, goes on to live with his parents again in São Paulo, unaware of all the problems it may cause.
There, his parents also are going through a separation, but to avoid more traumas, they hide the fact from the “kids”, causing issues with their new partners.
The family situation and his struggle to find a girlfriend and have a new relationship, along with his entirely new journey, opening a pole vault school/ gym along with his long-date friend, are the main forces that move the Prata da Casa/ Homegrown plot.
Making Of:
The Family’s home:
As a “Family’s Sitcom”, the house was a very important set and where we had most of the scenes. The flat had a modernist architecture, integrated ambients, in light wood, neutral tones and a few colorful accents.
The Gym/ Pole Vault School :
Trying to rebuild his life and career, Sergio Henrique, with his childhood friend, open a pole vault school, which is not viable, but it's part of the joke. In the gym, they have to overcome many issues with customers and with the management itself.
The gym was built in the studio where we could have the large dimensions of this unusual indoor sport.
